Alkimija is a board game, that belongs to the “deck-building” category. Each turn, you earn some currency, which will allow you to buy some random cards and build-up your hand. These cards will allow you or others to perform actions, or to bend the rules of the game (gaining more currency, revealing a card before you buy it, etc.). Whenever a player performs an action they gain some points. The game stops once a player reaches a certain amount of points (or when all the players decide it’s time to stop). The winner gets to have their wish fulfilled.
Imagine four players: Alice, Bernard, Carmen and Dan. It’s Alice’s turn.
Alice: “OK it’s my turn, so, I gain 1 more coin, which makes 2. I toss the die… oh no, that’s a 6, I lose a piece of clothing…”. She removes her pants.
Carmen: “Would you like to buy any card with your 2 coins?”
Alice: “I’ll buy a soft action card”. She reads the card, looks at everyone and smiles. “I’ll play it a bit later. Next.”
Dan: “It’s my turn, so I get my free coin, which brings me to 5.” He tosses the die. “That’s a 3, which means I add 3 more coins to my purse, which brings me to 8. I’m buying!” He buys one spell card for 3 coins, and two soft cards for 2 coins each.
Carmen: “Are you playing anything?”
Dan: “Yes, let me read to you the action card: A player of your choice has to tease another player of your choice the way they decide. Carmen, you have to tease Bernard…” he draws a time card “…for… 30 seconds!”
Carmen: “OK, set the timer on, I’m giving him a lap dance”
Alice: “Wait a second! I have this spell card that says “Change the target player of an action that was just played”. I decide that Carmen should tease me instead of Bernard.”
Carmen: “Fine by me, start the timer!” she gives a lap dance to Alice for 30 seconds.
Dan: “That’s 2 points for Carmen, and the end of my turn, now it’s Bernard’s”
Bernard: “So 1 more coin and…” he tosses the die “…and 2 extra coins. Now I have 4 coins, so I buy a mild action card.” he reads it. “I’ll play it right away. Dan you have to make out with Alice for…” he draws a time card “…oh! 1 minute 30 seconds.
Everyone cheers and the game goes on.
